The past week was so jam packed here! On Tuesday night we had a social with David's ABOLC (armor basic officers leadership course) class and their instructors. It was nice to meet the instructors that I had been hearing about for the past six months and to spend some time with our friends. Everyone had such wonderful things to say about David and all mentioned how proud they were of him :) Here's a picture of the wives I have spent the last six months with:
After the social was over we headed home to hang out for a little while as we waited to pick up David's parents! We were so excited for them to come spend a couple days with us!
Wednesday was the big graduation day! David graduated as the distinguished honor graduate of his class, which is an incredible honor. He was presented with a plaque, presented the general with the class gift, and had to dismiss the class at the end of the ceremony. I am so stinking proud of him!!!

Thursday we took a trip to Providence Canyon which is known as "The Little Grand Canyon", which was really awesome until we learned that the canyon was formed from poor land management by farmers a long time ago. Nonetheless, the canyon was beautiful and we had a great time hiking around the tops of the canyon and through the canyon floor.

Friday we roamed around the National Infantry Museum which was very interesting. The museum is huge and full of all sorts of historical facts. We could have spent hours wandering around. After the museum we walked along the riverwalk and had yummy sandwiches for lunch.
Saturday we unfortunately had to drop David's parents off at the airport in Atlanta. It was so great to have them here with us for the week and we absolutely did not want to see them go. David and I are already trying to plan a trip back to Texas to see everyone again.
After the airport we stopped at the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain and I was so stinking excited!!!! The park is one of those drive through zoos where the animals come up to the car and you can feed/pet them. I got to feed and pet a giraffe and you would have thought I just won the lottery. I was SO excited!!!!
eek!!!!
The whole week was so busy but it was wonderful to see family and get to experience things around Columbus. We are trying to take advantage of the things we have here before we head off to Germany in the fall!!
