Our weekend is ending and I am bummed David has to go back to work tomorrow. He had today off since they were in the field on Saturday and it was so nice to hang out and get some things done around the house.
Sunday's are pretty busy for us lately because we have been attending Financial Peace University at our church in the afternoons. It is an absolutely fantastic program and we both feel like we've learned so much in just the past two weeks but, since it is at 4pm and church is at 11am, it seems to take up the whole day. If you don't know anything about the program, check it out here!
David and I both know we are doing relatively well when it comes to our finances but it's nice to have some guidance on exactly what needs to be done. We've learned what our savings goals should be and now have some suggestions on just how much to put into that IRA. We both have so many questions and our parents are always great resources but it's difficult to talk to them as a couple over the phone, so we've really enjoyed going to the classes together.
It's been an adjustment financially since David is the only one working right now, but hopefully in the next two weeks that will all change. I am FINALLY going to substitute orientation (after almost five months of waiting) and absolutely cannot wait to get back into the classroom. After having all this time off I am discovering just how much I love teaching. I want to have a job again (preferably teaching elementary art but I'd totally be cool with kindergarten)! There are year-round programs here in Columbus so I will be able to substitute throughout the summer which will make the time when David is gone go so much quicker.
Things feel like they're starting to come together with our life together and I am thrilled with it :) We are loving being married! It's been almost nine months (woah!!!) and we're really looking forward to that one year anniversary! Everyone says the first two years are the most critical/difficult and, if that's truly the case, we've got this in the bag :)
Just, FYI; that laundry pile in our living room chair is finally GONE! But it seems that a large amount of dirty clothes have appeared in the laundry hamper...
